How To Get dispose Of Expensive/designer Clothing?

December 15, 2009

Over the years I’ve collected a few pieces of fairly expensive/designer clothing, which I no longer wear. What is the best way to clean out my closet without just “throwing them away” for nothing? Is it really worth it to bring my clothes to a consignment store?

You could try to eBay them, people buy anything and everything there.

Have you considered giving them to a church that will follow through with the people they give them to? They’re not out to make a profit, but they try to make sure that the less fortunate are pointed in the right direction.

I had the same problem. I used to be a major “clothes horse”. I was gonna take the stuff to consignment, then thought why bother. I just took them to the Salvation Army. I figured there would be lots of people who would love the clothes and they could get them for next to nothing. I felt really good after I did it because I had been hording them for awhile.

look around your town for a consignment store that buys clothes back. Also you could post them on Ebay or ask your friends if they would like to buy them.

Yes it is! Some consignment stores will pay you on the spot. Others take them and you have to wait to get you money. Then there is always places like a good will or salvation Army that will take them and give you a receipt for a tax write off. Also there are places like Savers that will give you some much off of your next purchase if you don’t mind used clothes. I buy all my kids play clothes there when they need them, and the money goes to a good cause. Good Luck and God Bless.

yes it is but find one in your area that will take care of them and show them off right away. the consignment shop in my area has bags and bags of clothing just piled up and it always smells musty in there…so choose a good one by “shopping” around go into some first and see how they treat the items and ask questions of the owner. if you don’t want to go that route then donate them to the salvation army or st. Vincent De Paul’s so someone else may benefit from some nice clothing too.

sell them on ebay..maybe or just give them away to charity. But if u want $$ & they’re in good condition, which sounds like they are, then i heard of playdoughs closet(or something like that). They’ll pay u for it but prbly not that much.
